Hello Lover

I'd like to introduce everyone to my new BFF, the Canon Rebel EOS.  I'm in love.  From the moment I laid eyes on it I was imagining the two of us running through fields of wildflowers and meeting to embrace with the musical stylings of Celine Dion playing in the background.

Now that I've made everyone uncomfortable I want to tell you about some of the things I anticipate doing with my new BFF (BFF stands for Best Friend Forever, in case you're not hip to the lingo).

I imagine we'll probably read together.

I'm certain we'll be cooking together.

Of course there will be boring things like laundry that need to get done.

As usual the dogs require a lot of attention.

And sometimes you just need to take a nap.

Let's not forget that we'll also be blogging.

Most importantly we'll be dealing with this.

Until we meet again.

Emily

6 months

Today my baby is 6 months old.  Can you believe it?  I swear just yesterday she lived in my uterus.  (Sorry to any male readers who just thought about my uterus.)  It's amazing what a huge difference 6 months can make.  My life is totally different and I wouldn't take a second of it back for anything.  All the sleepless nights that we both sat up crying (her from colic and me from exhaustion), all the vomit (once again that would be both of us) and every struggle and frustration was worth it.  I know it sounds so cliche, but I can't imagine my life without her.  I'm so excited to see the person that she will become and yet at the same time I want to freeze her in time and keep her that happy, singing , chubby baby she is now.  I truly feel so blessed and it almost makes me want to run out and do it all over again.  Almost.  But then I remeber what I now think of as my "9-month brush with bulemia" and I'm perfectly happy to have a baby that lives outside my body and not in.  We'll see what the future holds, but for now I'm just trying to cherish every moment of the present.

Then.

Now.

Thriller

Saturday my mom and sisters and I carried on our annual Halloween tradition by attending Thriller.  It was of course awesome!  For any of you poor unfortunate souls who haven't attended it before it's a dance concert put on by Odyssey Dance Theater every year.  I don't even know if concert could accurately describe it.  I think extravaganza is more appropriate.  Not only do you get to watch some fantastic dancing all with a Halloween theme but you get to have these little ladies literally crawl all over you before the show begins.

Awesome right?!  I found this year to be extra special because they had a Michael Jackson tribute.  I might have got a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye, but it was dark so there is no way to verify it.  At the end of the dance Elvis came to take Michael to heaven--just how I imagine it happened!  Oh, and in case you were wondering I loved Michael way before it was the cool thing to do because he became living impaired.  Just ask my mom, she can tell you that I loved him since the first time I saw his sparkly socks moon walk across the stage.  Still don't believe me?  Then I present to you the following proof:

There you have it ladies and gentleman.  Notice my fantastic Michael Jackson poster and Michael Jackson t-shirt I'm wearing when I was but a wee child.  I rest my case.

Anyways, I believe the point of this was to tell you that the Thriller dance concert was awesome and that Michael Jackson is the awesomest.  (Yes I said awesomest)

In The Begining.

Where should I begin? Ok it was a sunny California day, the year is 1981 and the contractions were coming hard and fast. What?! Oh you don't want me to start from that begining? Well next time you'll have to be more specific.

So Mike and I entered into matrimonial bliss on Flag Day 2008 (June 14th for all you who don't follow such romantic holidays).

We were blessed with our "little monkey" Ryder a little over 10 months later on April 21.

The dogs were super excited to have a new toy to play with. Sugar has pretty much lost interest in her now, but Roxy still gets excited every time they're together. Now I might mention that there is a good possibility that Roxy gets so excited because she thinks they're meeting for the first time. She hit her head on a regular basis when she was a puppy and I'm convinced she's suffered some sort of permanent damage. But how do you not love this face?!

What was I talking about? Oh yeah, anyways so that's our condensed story in a nutshell. I'll try and keep y'all up to date on a somewhat regular basis. I hope this will be a good way to keep our friends and family posted since we don't get to see some of you as often as we'd like.

Xoxo,

Emily
